Storm brake / rail clamp to protect crane systems or railbound machines against unwanted movements e.g. storm.
- Closing by spring force with toggle lever system – adjustable by throttle
 - Opening by hydraulic-cylinder
 - Restraining / holding forces up to 640 kN per clamp
 - Guidance on rail system with guide rollers
 - Limit switches monitoring for clamp position
 - Vertical movement compensation of ± 20 mm
 - Lateral compensation for rail misalignment of ± 25 mm
 - Flange mounting according to customers request
 - Cabinet stiffeners for buffer attachments
 - Bolts made of stainless steel material

Functional principle
- Closing by spring force with toggle lever system – adjustable by throttle
 - Opening by hydraulic-cylinder
 - Automatically closing function in case of power failure
 - A vertical and horizontal guiding system avoids tilting of the clamp carriage when clamp levers are opened
 - Hand pump for emergency operation (manual) is supplied as standard

Rail clamps show wear due to the fact that they are in use over many years, which means they no longer have the neccessary safety levels required.
