Storm brake / rail clamp to protect crane systems or railbound machines against unwanted movements e.g. storm.

• Closing by spring force with toggle lever system – adjustable by throttle
• Opening by hydraulic-cylinder
• Restraining / holding forces up to 640 kN per clamp
• Guidance on rail system with guide rollers
• Limit switches monitoring for clamp position
• Vertical movement compensation of ± 20 mm
• Lateral compensation for rail misalignment of ± 25 mm

Functional principle

• Closing by spring force with toggle lever system – adjustable by throttle
• Opening by hydraulic-cylinder
• Automatically closing function in case of power failure
• A vertical and horizontal guiding system avoids tilting of the clamp carriage when clamp levers are opened
• Hand pump for emergency operation (manual) is supplied as standard

Additional to own brand production, RFT is specialized in repairing storm brakes / rail clamps of other brands due to in-house production flexibility.

Rail clamps show wear due to the fact that they are in use over many years, which means they no longer have the neccessary safety levels required.
